. : History
Peel
Montessori School’s journey began in September 1992 when we welcomed
12 casa students (3 and 4 year olds) and 8 students from grades 1 to 3.
We occupied one large room on the lower level of a church. As our specialized
educational program, nurturing environment, and positive atmosphere grew
in popularity, our enrolment outgrew our facilities at the church.
In 2000, we moved to a new school designed with children
in mind. We are currently situated on a one-acre lot and operating from
a 20,000 sq. ft. school setting which includes a 3,000 sq. ft. gymnasium,
spacious classrooms with plenty of natural light, a library and an outdoor
environment which children enjoy and utilize to complement their in-class
studies.
The Clarkson Village area was chosen for its natural
habitat beauty. From classrooms, children enjoy the sight of squirrels,
butterflies, birds and mature trees. We are close to numerous parks, Rattary
Marsh, Bradley Museum and libraries. It feels like the perfect home away
from home school environment.

. . : Philosophy
At Peel Montessori School, it is our belief that education
is a never-ending process of experiences. Experiences are attained in
various ways – formal teachings, out-of-school activities, hands-on
opportunities, and social interaction. Our philosophy embodies appreciating
a life-long joy of learning, placing value on educating the whole child
- intellectually, socially, personally, and physically in order to inspire
students in becoming productive members of society having acquired integrity,
a sense of responsibility and leadership skills that focus on peace.
Peace education, building community spirit, leadership
qualities, and values of a good citizen are emphasized daily in order
to maintain a positive environment which is pertinent to the well-being
of each of our students.
